About Inner North
The Inner North is a real mix. Some of Canberra's oldest homes are here, in the heritage streets of Reid and Ainslie, sitting a few blocks from new apartment buildings along Northbourne Avenue and the light rail. Further out, O'Connor, Lyneham, Downer and Watson are mostly mid-century family homes with big gardens and plenty of trees.
Older homes often have polished floorboards with rugs over the top, while the newer flats are carpeted wall to wall.
